  1. YOUR RATES ARE TOOOO HIGH FOR MIDDLE CLASS PEOPLE

    1. Dear Manoj, we agree to your point. We are also not enjoying keeping rates higher! However, rates depend on things beyond our control! Devgad Alphonso gets its unique characteristics because of the unique nature of the Nature in our village. Nature as you know has its own style of working and I am sure you would have seen the erratic winter and the untimely rains that struck from November till as late as February. Over 80% of the mango produce has been wiped out! We respect customers as much as we respect our Alphonso, and so we choose only the best to be sold as table fruit. We incur huge costs on growing the mangoes. You can easily see the market costs for fertilizers, pesticides, etc. Other things like plucking the mangoes, cleaning, grading, packing, transporting etc, takes up lot of costs! And we need to recover these costs if we have to survive and have our future generations continue farming! If the mango is more in supply, we can reduce the selling price, but if the mango is short in supply, as it is this year, we are compelled to increase the price!

  2. wow something new. congrats.

    1. Thanks Vyankatesh! 🙂

  3. Desperately waiting to start the mango supply… can’t wait any more…

    1. Dear Manoj,
We are hoping to start mango supplies soon! Fingers crossed! But Nature God’s mood is a bit upset! 🙁

  4. ITS REALLY A NICE INITIATIVE TAKEN BY MANGO GROWERS IN THE REGION. I REALLY THANK THEM FOR THERE INITIATIVE WHICH IS FIRST STEP TOWARD THERE OWN BRIGHT FUTURE WHICH WILL STOP BLACK MARKETING OF THIS NICE PRODUCT IN INDIA. I THINK WE MUST TAKE GET BOOSTED BY SUCH ACTIVITIES AND ALL THE AGRO GOODS IN MARKET SHOULD BE SOLD BY FARMERS ITSELF WHICH WILL REALLY GIVE MONEY TO THE FARMERS INSTEAD OF THERE HOLDERS.

    1. Dear Aditya,
Thanks you for your patronage and support to our Alphonso!

  5. Indeed a brilliant initiative … I hope other farmer groups will get a hint and can serve original products directly to consumer. Wish you all the success …

Keep up the Good Work !!

    1. Thank you so much!

  6. Hi,

This is really a good and praiseworthy initiative. As an ardent mango-lover, we do not get to know the right hapus mango. Everybody sell mango as devgad hapus. We are even ready to shell out little more money for the right fruit.

As an environment conscious citizen, we would also like to have a eco-friendly produce. Most importantly, how are you going to deliver in cities like Mumbai? we are curious to know.

    1. Hi Anil, thanks for your encouragement! We are planning stalls in Mumbai, but right now the production has taken a hit because of untimely rains and severe winters. We are hoping for a good production from the second round of flowering, the fruits of which we expect to get in April end or May.

  7. Looking forward for more info. Thanks

    1. We will update the blog soon!

  8. Great Initiative, will u be delivering only in India or will you send it overseas by courier/air cargo if required

    1. At this point India, because Alphonso is extremely short in supply! Almost 80% of the produce has been wiped out! We would explore exports too!
